Rendering

I have built and edited SolidWorks models to create realistic renders using Keyshot. Not only are renders great for testing new product ideas without having to make costly prototypes but they can be used as realistic replacements for real photos.

SolidWorks and Keyshot

I use SolidWorks to create all the parts, hulls, and accessories that go into the final assembly of a Legend boat or pontoon. Most parts are fairly straight-forward but recreating fabric seating in SolidWorks can take a little longer.

Once the SolidWorks model has been built, I bring it into Keyshot and start applying materials, textures, and labels. I often have to make many of the fabric materials myself by taking actual images of the carpet, creating a seamless pattern in Photoshop and adding a bump map to give it texture.

I use different lighting environments and backgrounds, depending on the type of render I'm making. I also make 360 degree renders of each model that will be featured on the web. These models are totally responsive and can be rotated by the user.
